<p>OSPA Fall 2009 contest results:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Eleanor Berry</strong> of Lyons took First Place in Traditional Verse with her poem, <em>Circles Within a Larger Round</em>.</p>
<p><strong>James Higgins</strong> of Eugene scored with both Dueling Judges, winning an Honorable Mention with one judge and placing Second with the other judge!</p>
<p><strong>Sharon Munson</strong> of Eugene took an Honorable Mention in the category, Free Verse.</p>

<p><strong>Ralph Salisbury</strong> had a poem published on <em>Verse Daily</em>. He also has a poem appearing in the anthology <em>Fire and Ink,</em> and will read from the anthology at Wordstock on October 11. He and <strong>Ingrid Wendt</strong> will read at Tsunami Books on October 17. Ingrid also has three poems in the online journal <em>BabelFruit</em> and two poems have been accepted for the anthology <em>Poets of the American West.</em> Her new poetry manuscript, tentatively titled <em>Sanctuary</em> was a semi-finalist in the Many Mountains Moving book contest. In September she will lead two workshops: Shotpouch Creek’s “Working and Writing in the Woods,” and a writing workshop at the coast for a group of German students from the University of Freiburg.</p>
<p><strong>Catherine McGuire</strong> has several poems online at <em>NewVerse News, Found Poetry</em> and <em>Halfway Down the Stairs.</em> She has poems in print accepted by <em>Taddle Creek</em> and <em>Third Wednesday.</em></p>
<p><strong>Sharon Munson</strong> has had two poems accepted for the fall <em>2009 Silver Boomers</em> anthology.</p>
<p><strong>Quinton Hallett</strong>’s poems appear in <em>Groundwaters,</em> and in two anthologies:<em> Talk to Me, I Will Listen,</em> and <em>Collecting Life, Poets on Objects Known and Imagined.</em> She taught a workshop in Taos and read with the Third Wave Poets at the Rane Gallery and the Taos Art Gallery in July.</p>
<p><strong>Hank Alley</strong>&#8217;s story, &#8220;Tame,&#8221; was accepted by Gertrude Press, and his article, &#8220;The Gay Artist as Tragic Hero in The Picture of Dorian Gray,&#8221; has appeared in CLC Web: Comparative Literature and Culture, from Purdue University.</p>
<p><em>Tiger’s Eye</em> published poems by <strong>Michael Hanner</strong> and <strong>Toni Van Deusen</strong>. Toni’s poems were also accepted by <em>Oleander Review </em>and<em> Cloudbank</em>. Her poem “Station” won third place in the CV2 48-hour poem contest. Michael and Toni attended the Centrum Port Townsend Writers’ Conference in July and read at the Northwind Gallery there.</p>
